WIMBLEDON'S ANNUNAL SPONSORS FORUM

Sprout Production Company

DATE

22nd-25th January 2020

I was lucky enough to work with a production company, Sprout, at the Wimbledon Tennis Grounds at the end of January 2020. I over watched the production company transform one of the catering spaces into a theatre and inspirational gallery area. This work experience has provided me with insight into how spaces comes to life and how drawings from 2D can be turned into 3D.

Below are images were images of the year before, that were sent to me in a presentation from the Production Manager.

Sprout are a corporate event production company. One of their clients is the All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon. Once a year they hold the Wimbledon Forum which is a meeting of key sponsors to discuss developments of the site, the club and the brand and ways to leverage that brand for those key sponsors. The event transforms a catering space into a boutique gallery space and presentation theatre for around 200 people.

This year I was lucky enough to join the company for 4 days to transform a catering space turn into a gallery and theatre. This job provided me with insight into how space can be transformed using materials and lighting, how the design of a space comes to life and how the drawings from 2D are turned into 3D. I became more confident by taking part in this project and learnt from the professional bodies that I was working with.

One day in December, I travelled with the Production Manager and the Lighting Designer to go and see the venue. The forum was a chance for Wimbledon tennis Club to meet with their sponsors and discuss the future year. As a part of this, the production company were also asked to adapt the Champion’s Room into a dining area for its key sponsors and partners.

As you can see, you can still see the catering space in the background and this shows the same space that has been manipulated. The three open panels were left so that screens could be later installed. The inspirational gallery area and displays the scale of the graphics on the wall. the graphics were printed on a canvas and the stretched over an aluminium frame. Part of the brief given was to cover these doors as they were originally see through. The windows were wrapped in vinyl. Wimbledon’s sponsors are from all across the globe and they wanted to display the message, ‘It happens here’, in all different languages.
